Proper handling helps prevent bearing failure
Jul 13, 2017

Bearings are very precise mechanical fittings, in many cases with geometric tolerances of one out of 10,000 inches. They should be treated as precision instruments when handling inspections or mounting bearings. Most of the bearing failures are caused by user differences in the processing technology.
Foreign particulate matter enters bearing life shortening and provides one or all of the following unsatisfactory working conditions.
• Increased noise
• Increased friction
• Ball Slide
• Increased heat
• Reduced lubrication Life
It is also important to keep the outer surface and adjacent components (i.e., shafts and housings) clean. The bearing side or casing or shaft will cause the bearing pair to be parallel to the mating shoulder contamination. This causes the ball to run in a non circular plane raceway, causing the ball to change in velocity, the ball slipping and the combination of the races between these phenomena increases. Heat causes the lubricating oil to oxidize, which may lead to premature bearing failure.
1. Bearings should never handle naked hands. Do not contain talc or talcum powder for free surgery should wear gloves.
2. The work area must be kept clean, clean and clean (no food or smoking should be allowed).
3. Bearings should be kept in the original packaging until they are ready to install the moment.
4. An unclean casing and a shaft shop rag or swab, as these items usually lead to contamination. Clean room cloths or cotton swabs should be used.
5. The Laminar working table is strongly recommended.
6. Bearing working tools must be kept clean and burr free.
7. Bearings must be kept unblocked to any source of magnetism.
8. Bearings should be kept in a dry environment they are susceptible to corrosion. Wet acid from hand can cause bearing corrosion.
9. Bearing mounting tools shall ensure that bearings are mounted on shafts and housings.
10. Bearings shall not be subjected to impact or impact loads. Typically, the bearing will become brinelled (dent in the raceway) if dropped from the workbench to the floor and hammered into place.
11. When pressing the bearing, the stress applies only to the ring being installed. For example, if a bearing is pressed in the axial force, it should be applied to the face of the inner ring only. In no case is the stress exerted in such a way that it passes through the ball bearing ferrule to another A.
12. Handle miniature bearings When external attire (caps, suits and shoe covers), with no flannel suitable for plastic yarn. Cosmetics/powders are not permitted. Bearings should be stored in their original containers. Don't let them discover that the container is exposed to the environment.
